LUCID (thesis in progress)
Lucid narrates vivid nightmares through fashion, filtered through the eerie language of horror cinema. The collection captures the raw panic in stress-induced dreams of suddenly falling down stairs, teeth crumbling, or clothes disappearing at the worst moment.
Diving into sleep paralysis, insomnia, sleepwalking, and when a pile of clothes in the dark looks like a person, Lucid twists the familiar into something menacing. Poplin and linen mimic formal wear and bedspreads, disrupted by lace and satin to reflect a vulnerable introduction of uncontrollable chaos. Bloody red prints streak across fabrics to amplify the sense of dread.
Lucid captures that unsettling feeling of when the sweet escape of rest feels inescapable.
